Then into our swim suits and into a warm blue sea with the fishes. We went after a morning visit to the museum in the Fort above - also excellent - and stayed til sunset. ”

“ Recommendation from local in Merida. A bit out of the way, but worth it, and you can visit Fort San Miguel before for some culture and views. You can take either colectivo, taxi, or even walk here (long walk). Lovely, quiet setting by the sea, and you may have the choice of sitting in the restaurant and pier huts. Attentive and pleasant staff. Unfortunately did not have the squid when I visited so I chose the crab and shrimps. The crab was fine but the Camarones Al Ajillo was amazing, and really good prices as well. ”
